It's Official!!!

AHHHHHH!!! I just registered for the Salt Lake City HALF Marathon! UGHHHHH! I am so nervous right now. My stomach is starting to churn and I might have to run to the bathroom. Good thing I can run fast now! Just kidding. I have no intention of running this race fast...just running will be quite the accomplishment for me. So if you aren't busy around April 19th, come on down! There will be quite the little group of us. Bryce and I will be running it "together" which means we'll start together and then I'll chase his shorts through the whole thing. My friend, Jenn, who started this whole thing will be there...but who knows where. I think a couple other friends will be there as well. Mom and Dad will be there to cheer me on across the finish line. I have asked my friend Pat to come with and help me drive because I might be a little tired that afternoon as we drive home. Doesn't it sound fun? Feel free to come and see the sights!!! Only three more weeks to get ready. We're on the countdown.

Coming Home

After babysitting for a week
it is always a little refreshing to get home and unload. This means laundry, trying to see the coutertops and cleaning the inch of dust from the piano... Thankfully I have two cute helpers! Eliza is into making "soup". I give her ingredients and let her have at it. She stirs pepper, salt, sugar, flour and all sorts of fun things together and makes a huge mess. But she loves it! It keeps her happy while I try to clean up somewhere else, sometimes the benefits are less than the effort to clean up the disaster after. Well - I think I have shown you enough pictures for now!

Easter Sunday

Here are the sweetest girls! Easter morning they were in some cute pink and we headed to church. Jenna has been teething and her cheeks are candy apple red in the mornings. Eliza has an awesome primary teach who gave her eggs with the whole Easter story in them which we used for Family Home Evening last night.
I have too many pictures to share! Hope you all had a great EASTER!!!

Egg Hunt

We spent our Spring Break babysitting for a family and got to be with their neighborhood for Easter! What a hunt with so many kids. Eliza really had a gret time. It was the perfect weather!!! Jenna slept through the whole thing but was perfectly happy to pick up eggs in the house!

Eliza Writing Her Name

This was the BEST part of my day yesterday. It was a CRAZY day but Eliza helped me slow down and see something beautiful. I was trying to get her to hurry so we could run out the door but she was too busy drawing. She then told me she was drawing her name. So I waited. Here is what she drew. Believe it or not she did draw her name, totally the wrong order, but you will see an E, L, I, Z (actually 2 S's) and an A. I've only seen her write an E and L before. I don't know where she picked up on the rest of it! Too cute!

Shopping

The other day I had the priveledge of shopping with Scott. I had explained to him that I had resorted to shopping with two cars. I push the girls in one and put the groceries in the other. He just laughed at me and thought is was a little overboard for only two kids. Little does he know about shopping with a one year old! I enjoyed him taking care of the girls while I just shopped! Jenna is the silent destroyer! She can grab food from the cart and have it in her mouth in an instant. I wind up buying bananas with no bottoms, brocolli with bite marks. It doesn't matter what it is...she loves it. Also, in taking the bitten food away from her she will scream which makes the trip even more unpleasant. Today I tried the one cart method because I only had three things to get. As I was checking out this man came up behind me and kind of grabbed my cart so I couldn't move forward any more. He pointed to the ground. There was yogurt oozing from my cart. Jenna had sat on a container and it was all over her, Eliza had already stepped in it as well. I cleaned Jenna up the best I could, tried to contain Eliza and clean her up, pay for the groceries and ran out before anything else happened. This isn't the first time I've made a mess in Wal-Mart but that story doesn't need to be told today!

My Girl!

Here is the little girl. Every day seems to be a new adventure. Today we have her friend, Evia, over for a tea party. Two cute kids!

The Art of Getting Ready

I was going to call this "Showering" but then I realized that may be taken wrong. I never realized how nice it was to shower and get ready without being disturbed. I really look forward to Sunday mornings, when Scott is usually around, and can play with the girls while I shower. In general I am a pretty quick showerer. Unfortunately, when that is the case I don't do ALL the essentials. Because I don't do certain things every day there usually comes a time a couple times a week when it HAS to be done. I usually just hope the kids will cooperate while I take an extended shower. Today I enjoyed the "peek-a-boo shower". Jenna is at the perfect age and size to open and close the shower door. As the air from outside my little shower comes rushing in I go from hot to cold, hot to cold. While I try and hurry up the shaving process it only becomes longer due to the pain from shaving off goosebumps. At some point I just gave up and realized the door was going to stay open. I finished and got out. Jenna was more than soaked and the whole shaving process was less than successful. So it is today....which will only make my next shower longer than intended, so the cycle begins again! HAPPY SHOWERING - to those of you without little helpers!

I'm Brown

My friend, Pat, had taken a color test, so I did too. Some parts are pretty darn accurate!

Elizabeth, your true color is Brown. Brown is a credible, stable color that's reminiscent of fine wood, rich leather, and wistful melancholy. Most likely, you're a logical, practical person ruled more by your head than you heart. With your inquisitive mind and insatiable curiosity, you're probably a great problem solver. And you always gather all of the facts before coming to a timely, informed decison. Easily intrigued, you're constantly finding new ways to challenge your mind, whether it's by reading the newpaper, playing a trivia game, or composing a piece of music. Brown is an impartial, neutral color, which means you tend to see the difference between fact and opinion easily and are open to many points of view. Trustworthy and steady, you really are a brown at heart.

Let me know what you think!

Taken for a Ride

Last night I had an experience. Not a good, not a bad, just an experience. A couple weeks ago I was "contacted" and took a phone survey. I didn't put much effort into it and it only lasted 15 seconds so no big deal. They called again last week and asked if someone could stop by to show me a "air purification" machine and have me take a survey. I could get a $500 certificate to a department store. I asked how long it would take....20 minutes. Well, the guy showed up last night at 6:30 and we started in on the purification machine which was a nice fancy word for VACUUM! Two hours later he was still trying to sell us this great machine. Hey, I would take it if I had a couple grand sitting around. Fun little demonstration and at least one square foot of my carpet is clean now. So I got my $500 certificate and got excited to shop. All I have to pay for is shipping. I asked him where the gift certificate was for..."an online store like Target or Kohls." This online store is the WORST! I browsed through EVERY SINGLE item in less than 10 minutes! Please! The entire "apparel" department consisted of 4-1980 style vests. You know, the down quilted ones. The colors were almost worth buying! On top of it if you did find something, let say for $300 the postage was $95. Yup, great waste of time. I guess there was a good side to the whole thing. He did tell me that all vacuums work the same. So I can be happy with my $50 vacuum that we bought 5 years ago. I realize, and did before he came, that it doesn't do a great job but now I know that a $500 machine does as much as mine but looks cooler. So, I guess it wasn't a total loss
